Success Case 5

Visa Type: Contributory Parent visa (subclass 143)

Approval Date: February 24, 2023

Applicant: Ms Yang

Key Points: Ms Yang, a skilled Subclass 189 visa holder, sponsored her 70-year-old parents to immigrate to Australia.

Ms Yang is an Australian citizen who sought to arrange for her parents, who live in China, to immigrate to Australia and live in the country permanently. To do this, she began the process of applying for a Parent visa (subclass 143).

After researching the requirements and application process outlined by the Australian Department of Home Affairs, Ms Yang decided to seek professional assistance from a migration agency, ultimately choosing Edu Pathways. Initially, Edu Pathways’ immigration consultants assessed her family situation and determined that her parents were indeed eligible to apply for the subclass 143 Parent visa. Edu Pathways then assisted Ms Yang in preparing all relevant visa application materials, including her parents' passports, proof of identity, health checks, and police clearances.

With the help and guidance of Edu Pathways, Ms Yang lodged the visa application and after six months, she received confirmation from the Australian Department of Home Affairs notifying her that his application had been accepted. Her parents were then able to submit further materials to support the application, including English proficiency test results and financial proof.

Finally, after 18 months, Ms Yang's parents’ application was approved and they then obtained a subclass 143 Parent visa. Ms Yang’s parents began their new life in Australia, reunited with their daughter. They also had the opportunity to take advantage of Australia’s social services, such as medical care and education, and started to participate in local community activities.
