Employer Nomination Scheme Visa (subclass 186) Summary

This visa lets skilled workers, who are nominated by an employer, live and work in Australia permanently.

With this visa, you can:

· live, work, and study in Australia indefinitely,

· sponsor eligible family members to come to Australia,

· apply for Australian citizenship, if eligible,

· access Australia's public healthcare scheme, Medicare,

· sponsor eligible relatives to come to Australia

· travel to and from Australia for five years,

· apply for Australian citizenship, if eligible.

Newly arrived residents may have to wait to access certain payments and benefits from the Australian Government.

To be eligible for this visa you must

· be nominated by an Australian employer,

· meet the requirements for skills, licensing registration or membership and English ability,

· have an occupation on the relevant list of eligible skilled occupations,

· be under 45 years of age when you apply.

Additional application charge (over 18): AUD$2,025

Second instalment payable prior to grant of visa.

For Secondary applicants 18 years and older and have less than Functional English: AUD$4,890
